Welcome to the official website of the
British Diesel Locomotive Preservation Group
Formed in the spring of 2007, the B.D.L.P.G. aims to preserve part of Britain’s heritage, in the form of British built diesel locomotives. There are well over 200 stored or condemned diesel locomotives, that were built within the United Kingdom, which are now sat around on scrap lines or at the back of dormant depots of this country. We see this as a terrible waste of the craftsmanship and man hours that went into building these magnificent machines.
Join us in sharing our vision. A vision that would see these dormant locomotives reawaken and travel the country, hauling passengers and freight alike. Proving to the rest of the world that the British really are top of the league when it comes to railway and locomative design.
Please browse through our website, see our aims and what we are prepared to do, and join us to protect our heritage. Act now to save what we enjoy today for future generations to enjoy.
Any comments are welcomed at website@bdlpg.co.uk. Feel free to give suggestions etc, we welcome all comments and critiscm with an open mind
